They started in 1995 and like many young bands they also had some problems with the line-up. In the next time they recorded two demos:'Through The Storm' in 1997 and 'Promo 2001'. This last demo was very succesfull for them, cause with that they were on tour with God Dethroned and even got a record deal with Cold Blood Industries. The band always was active on stage and thats of course also a very important part for a band.
On the bandwebsite it says: KATAFALK is a death/thrash metal band from Groningen, The Netherlands. Their musical style is dominated by brutal blastbeats and aggressive riffing. These components are brought together in very dynamic, well structured songs. They keep the listeners focused, and incite a lot of energy. According to reviewers, elements of death, thrash, grind and black metal can be heard, so the band's style can easily be summarized as extreme metal. KATAFALK is known for their explosive and intense live shows in which both the aggression of the music and the enthusiasm of the bandmembers play important roles.
Proserpine´s comment: Yes, I can just agree with that statement from their website. They are fast and extreme all is structured and on its right place. Really a great band! I hope they will soon release their first full-lenght album via CBI!
