The band started in 1993 as a three-man-band. Besides a few line-up-changes they released the demos "Echos" in 1995 and "Into a Dream" in 1997. While all their music was more Death Metal or Doom-influenced their third release "Nox Draconis Argenti" (1999) was a great step into the direction they wanted to play: Fantasy Metal with influences of Black, Death, Doom and Heavy Metal. They added more different vocals (even female-parts), more guitars and more melodies. This was the right mixture for great music and they played live to convince people of their skills. 2001 was at first not the best year for them, cause they had problems with the line-up again. In July 2001 they recorded their debut-album "Codex Barathri" with a session bassplayer. Later the year they completed their line-up again with the now current musicians.
The release party for "Codex Barathri" was on April 15th 2002. They also got a deal with LSP Company.
Proserpine´s comment: Guess how I found this band? Right, as I was surfing in the net! I thought that bandname sounds interesting and so I checked their website, downloaded some songs...and yes... I really like them. They make a nice mixture of melodies which are brutal, but also lovely. I guess the genre "Fantasy Metal" fits perfect, but don´t forget the enourmous Black/Death Metal-influences. Also Keyboards are often used, but check for example the song "Elemental Dance" and you know that they can handle it perfect. Great piece of metal from our belgian neighbours!
